Come see what's inside my Honeyville order...

The order came on Tuesday, but we haven't even had time to open the boxes until now!

As I began to open them, I realized I had nearly missed a "before and after" photo op.

Photobombed by a curious puppy.

Here are the final results...

Whole foods galore!

The larger 50-lb bags in the back are the grains:  millet, cornmeal, and oats.
The smaller 25-lb ones in front are the legumes:  yellow peas, red beans, garbanzo beans, and lentils.
The bucket is the healthy fat:  organic coconut oil.

You are looking at a bit over 400 lbs of dry food, roughly 672,000 calories, enough for one person to live on 1840 vegan calories a day for a year.  It feels kinda crazy to look at all that food in one place.

About half of this will go into long-term storage, when I get the oxygen absorber packs in December.  I still have to get the black beans, popcorn, basmati rice, flour, avocado oil, olive oil, and sugar... but that stuff is mostly local and pretty easy, and will be purchased in December too.  The hard part is done, and we are well on the way toward our 2014 diet plan!

This thing is totally happening.
