What to get for a puppy who already has way too many toys? A meaty raw mammoth bone!
Stormy is completely in love with devouring her bone.
It is hard to believe that she's already a year old, since it seems like just yesterday she was small enough to use a throw pillow as a bed.
I am really, REALLY looking forward to being home with her.
I'll be starting up a formal training regimen again, giving her half her food in the form of treats... she thinks a piece of food given by hand is just as good as any treat, especially if mixed with a few drops of homemade chicken bone broth. She'll be able to get to the dog park more frequently to work off her energy, which is something that's become impossible on weekdays because we haven't been home during daylight hours. And I will no longer feel guilty for leaving her home alone for 12+ hours every weekday. And maybe, in another year or so... puppies!
And hey, spending time together once I've left the work force won't just be beneficial for her. She'll be keeping me motivated to go on morning hikes every day, and her exuberance in the morning keeps me from sleeping past 7am, so I won't become nocturnal. And let's be honest, there's nothing like a super soft puppy for keeping strangers social, so I am sure to meet more people once I'm home during daylight hours.
