Awaiting Diagnosis

A week ago, I woke up with frequent heart palpitations that just never went away.  I've had 4 doctor's appointments over the last 4 days, 2 blood draws (and a blown vein), an EKG, and then had to wear a holter monitor (a wearable EKG) for 24 hours.

Definitely classy.  Everything about pregnancy has been super glamorous so far.

After deciding not to be embarrassed about it and hide from the public, we went to REI to get a kickass tent for the babymoon while I was wearing the holter monitor.  It was the first time someone has ever stared intently at my chest without looking at my boobs... I would have cracked up if the elderly guy didn't look so sad.

According to the doc:  All blood tests are perfect, so it's not anemia or thyroid issues, which are common causes during pregnancy.  And it's not stress.  Best case scenario, I am just super sensitive to feeling the blood flow in arteries stretched by extra blood volume, and 50% of pregnant women develop some form of premature atrial fibrillation because of this anyway but most can't feel it... this is likely, since I was sensitive enough to start feeling baby movement in the 13th week (for most first-time moms it's 18-20 weeks).  Worst case scenario, I have to go on beta-blockers (which are supposedly fine after the first trimester) for 5 months.  Either way, I have to avoid tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine, and get enough sleep and nutrition... I already have that covered!

On the positive side, those 5 extremely sticky stickers have a large round blob of jelly stuff underneath them, so taking off the stickers makes you look like you were in a fight with an octopus.  Makes for a good conversation starter.

Edit:  Happy update
