In return, I got 12 quart mason jars, and 36 pints!
About to be sanitized.
This saves me about $44, because I was about to be forced to make a large purchase to keep up with the garden harvests. These jars are all from my grandparents' house... when they moved last year, their canned food storage (mushy pickles and other liquified goodies) had to be dumped. My mom says that she still has 4 times this amount from that move.
It makes me feel tingly and giddy.
I'm heavily considering getting a FreshSaver and a mason jar attachment, after doing research on how to store sun-dried tomatoes. It appears that they stay fresh far longer if stored in a vacuum... as does other stuff like chopped lettuce and veggies and sprouting seeds and everything. It'd be $30, but potentially a good investment considering the way we buy lettuce and baby kale in bulk from Costco. Hmm.
Is it ever possible to have too many mason jars?
